How does SWIF Manage Water Intrusion?

SWIF Rack addresses water intrusion at both the penetration level and the system level.

At each attachment point, SWIF stanchions are pre-engineered with closed-cell foam infill and sealed with a UV-resistant cap and gasket assembly. This multi-layered approach provides improved moisture intrusion prevention and also prevents internal condensation from forming and migrating into the roof system.

At the system level, SWIF integrates with roofing manufacturers’ standard pipe penetration details, ensuring all waterproofing is executed using proven, warrantable methods. The cylindrical stanchion geometry simplifies flashing and alignment, reducing installation variability and long-term risk.

Beyond the design of the hardware components themselves, the elevated system design provides continuous access to the roof surface. This allows routine inspection, maintenance, and leak repair to occur without removing the solar array, eliminating one of the most common causes of roof damage in traditional systems and significantly extending system longevity.
